Asian American Women

Project Director: I-Ting Emily Chu

Source of Materials: Asian Women United Records, Wing Fong Chin and Tung Pok Chin Papers, Asian Garment Workers in New York City Oral History Collection, I. Kida Papers, Yuri Kochiyama papers, Kazu Iijima papers, and other materials.

The purpose of this site is to look at how there were multiple struggles during the Civil Rights era, although it is commonly reduced to a "Black" vs. "White" issue. The site will also serve to discuss why people build communities as Asian/Pacific Americans, Asian/Pacific American women, women, or other groups in order to serve a bigger goal.
